Overview

In this workshop expert EMDR trainer and consultant, Elyse Harper, LMFT, enhances and refreshes your knowledge and clinical implementation of EMDR therapy. Drawing from her extensive experience as a consultant and Basic Training coach/facilitator, Elyse addresses a broad range of issues that EMDR clinicians and consultants may often overlook.

Elyse's training covers the impact of therapist ambivalence, the treatment of dissociative disorders, and how to manage complex clinical presentations that may affect EMDR therapy outcomes across the 8 phases. She also clarifies both simple and complex EMDR and trauma-related terms, providing a solid grounding in various resources and protocols that can be immediately applied to clinical work.

With a focus on practical application, the course includes multiple examples and a client video demonstration, helping participants solidify their foundational EMDR skills. Additionally, Elyse introduces strategies for overcoming client resistance, a common challenge in EMDR therapy, particularly with adolescents and adults.

This course is designed to strengthen foundational EMDR skills and improve effectiveness in clinical practice, particularly in handling complex cases.

It will equip EMDR therapists with new and existing strategies to work successfully with difficult-to-engage clients across all phases of EMDR therapy.

This course is suitable for anyone who has completed EMDR Basic Training as well as  experienced EMDR clinicians  looking to deepen their practice, and consultants who want to access more expertise for challenging cases consultees bring to them.
